Nikita Milliken is a senior at West Perry High School.  She has always been active in the school music program, where she participates in choir, mustang chorale, and the school musicals.  She recently auditioned for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) district seven vocal jazz ensemble against students from around the mid-state.  She secured a spot in the exclusive ensemble through a rigorous audition process in which she placed first!  The district jazz festival will be held from March 31 to April 1 at Boiling Springs High School. Nikita also submitted an audition for the PMEA all-state vocal jazz ensemble.  She was judged against singers from across the entire state and was selected as one of four sopranos chosen for the elite ensemble.  She will participate in the all-state festival, which is held at The Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in the Poconos from April 19 to the 22. Nikita is the first student from West Perry ever to be selected for either of these prestigious ensembles. Congratulations Nikita! We are so proud.
